Congratulations to two of our Clubhouse members on starting their new jobs today! Amber and Monica will both be working the information desk in the 6th Street Entrance at Good Samaritan. The 6th Street entranced closed during the pandemic and due to staffing issues had not reopened until today.
“We are thrilled to be working again with Good Samaritan Hospital through our transitional employment program here at the Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse,” said Clubhouse Coordinator David Engstrom. “The employment programs through the Clubhouse allow our members to gain meaningful employment in our community which is key in members regaining their lives in recovery and living as independently as possible.”
Engstrom went on to say “The position at the 6th Street Entrance information desk is similar to the registration desk at the Clubhouse. Members will excel in the role and feel a sense of accomplishment and serving their community.”
The Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse, currently managed by the Family Health Center - Vincennes, Indiana, opened in the fall of 2020 and is part of an international association of more than 330 Clubhouses in over 30 countries around the world. “A huge thank you to Good Samaritan for being a generous and strong supporter of the Wabash Valley Friendship Clubhouse. From day one Rob McLin and Good Samaritan have understood the mission of the Clubhouse and its need in our community.”
